It is unfortunate for many Abused and Neglected children who did not have this opportunity to celebrate with their families. Many of them celebrated this in a group home with paid staff.

Any one of us needs a family to depend on at the end of the day. CCAAFP.Org has been working to make this conceivable for these teenagers. We are still waiting on God to provide financially. We believe that God’s timing is the best.

On another note, watching Rachel Crow on X-Factor and singing exceptionally well, makes me believe even more on miracles. CCAAFP.org is a dream of my heart which will definitely come true-soon!

All of you out there looking for a family, hang in there, your time is coming soon!

There are times I have wondered how people who have been abused and neglected get up, pick up their pieces to continue living again? The human mind is very strong, sometimes we miss the power of the mind and let other thoughts cross over and we give up in life. I got a call from one of the foster kids I had sometime back. She reported to have picked her life after other disappointments. She also said that she graduated from high school and is now employed.

Not all abused and neglected children have a good ending. My hope and prayer is that – these children will find people, a place where they are safe again and continue to build their dreams.

There are many people I know who did not grow up with a biological father, however, they were surrounded by good loving uncles, cousins who influenced them.

Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathering and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in our families and society.

Apostle Paul talks to Timothy about his faith and that of his grandmother and mother. “I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice…, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 2:5,7,-NIV, NKJV).

On a sad note, there are children I know who grew up with cruel and mean fathers. These children were also abused and molested by fathers, grandfathers, cousins and uncles who were to protect them. These children do not celebrate father’s day with joy but with anger and bitterness in their hearts.

I knew my father for a very short time. He died on a car accident before I was a teenager. I look back now and remember him -he was a man of few words; he was kind and cared greatly about other, but mostly his mother. No matter how late he came home, he had to go and visit with his mother.

My hope and prayer is that those who were abused and neglected by their fathers or male relatives would find a God who is able to heal the wounds of a broken heart. Good mental health everyone and happy father’s day.

The vote that came in was 95 million which also voted Hailey out. This highest vote (of all seasons as Seacrest puts it) shows how many people either enjoy the show or have more time in their hands. The last two contestants are 16 years olds. Many of the group home children are about their age. I am optimistic that one of the group home or foster children will be a contestant in American Idol one day- and share their dream.

I have one teenager who is very ambitious and optimistic that she will be the next American Idol for 2013. All things are possible-just believe!

Teenagers run away are common among Abused and Neglected Children. Many of them run away for temporary freedom or rebelliousness.

I remember one of the many incidents at one of the group home I worked at. Three teenagers decided to ran away together. The girls were ages 14-16 years.

Two days later, the fourteen year old returned to the group home. I met with her and she reported that the three of them hitched. The two guys took them for a dance and drink. She could not remember what happened to her or others two hours later. She found herself in the streets again the following day.

She showed me her breast which was smashed heavily. She could not remember if she was raped or not. She continued to narrate this ordeal with tears in her eyes. I could not hold my tears as well.

This is a young girl who came to the group home because she was sexually molested by her uncle for several years. It was unfortunate that she had to go through something similar again.

Ran away teens is something that is not easy to prevent unless these teenagers are living in a locked facility. Many of the group home teenagers are allowed to go to the community with staff, but they still ran away either pretending to go the bathroom or just walk away.

There is a great danger of teenagers who have run away. Sexual predators’ are not sympathetic with these kids.

Jane came back to Wal-Mart and reported to the manager what happened. The manager reiterated that their procedure was to call the police first. Jane called the police, waited for about twenty minutes and the police officer came. The police officer checked for finger prints and none was found. The officer said, “you should be thankful, it was only money” he continued to say that there were cases he had where the victim was driven to the bank, withdraw all the money and finally killed.

Jane shared her pain of losing money in a very stupid way. However, she regained her composure and thought of a million things that would have happened. One lesson she reported learned was-“When it is too good to be true, then it is not true”.
